DAMIEN NEBLETT - MACHEL MONTANO
Bassist and Producer, Damien Neblett is a graduate of the Barbados Community College, where he acquired an associate degree in music at the age of 17. His interest in learning music more in-depth started in 2003 when he was introduced to music as a subject at the Christ Church Foundation School (C.C.F.S). Having listened to a lot of Carlos Santana and other famous guitar players, he wanted to rock out on electric guitar but later switched to bass after being exposed to new music and being captivated by various melodic bass-lines in reggae ,calypso and funk. Having switched to bass, Damien joined the school band in his forth year, and during his fifth year he had numerous opportunities to play at various venues. Since then, he has performed and/or travelled with some of the best in the caribbean including Rupee, Bunji Garlin, Alison Hinds, Voice, Edwin Yearwood, Patrice Roberts, Destra, Gyptian and Tarrus Riley. Damien Currently plays for the King of Soca, Mr. Machel Montano, DeRedBoyz and Saxophonist Extraordinaire Arturo Tappin. He also had the pleasure of performing with American R&B Recording artiste Freddie Jackson which was made possible by the aforementioned Arturo Tappin (2014) as well as Ashanti (2019) Shalamar, Teddy Riley, BlackStreet, Doug E Fresh (2020) and Wyclef Jean (2022) Thanks to Machel Montano .Damien has also performed with Afrobeat SuperStars Afro B, Ayra Starr and Mr.EazinnMusic has allowed Damien to travel the world since 2010 to present day, and since his first tour to St.Vincent he has been to Belgium, Canada, China, London, St.Maarten, United States of America and numerous Caribbean Islands. He has also represented Barbados through music at Carifesta 2013 in Suriname and Carifesta 2015 in Haiti.
